Defeat Tuberculosis
in the Kyrgyz Republic
USAID’s Defeat TB Project was a five-year endeavor from 2014-2019 designed to reduce the burden of tuberculosis (TB) in the Kyrgyz Republic. Its implementation limits the development of drug-resistant strains of the disease, supports equitable access to quality health care for vulnerable groups, and strengthens the national healthcare system.

The focus of these support meetings is to help inform and raise awareness about tuberculosis to patients and their families. There are a lot of misconceptions about the illness and it’s important that people have a better understanding of the treatment process to decrease the stigma associated with it.
